Claire Brewster

I love these pieces by Claire Brewster, her literal use of maps is inspiring and could be an interesting take for me personally within my journeys project. The birds and butterfly appear very delicate and the strategically cut shapes give for interesting shadows and outlines. Maps display thousands of journeys in the form of motorways and direction and relates excellently to my theme of journeys. This has inspired me to experiment with looking at my theme more literally, taking my starting influence Around the World in 80 Days and using book pages as a substrate.
